Thank you everyone for your support!!

Big shout-out to Lauren, Steph, Jen, and Marcella for making it out Wednesday night for Light up the Night!! Our event was held at the Kitchen Bar in Abington and pretty much went off without a hitch.  Definitely tough to get a weeknight thing going with everyone's schedules, but it was awesome to see everyone make it out for a great cause.  Not to self: bring unscented tapers for any restaurant events-the manager kind of came up and asked us to extinguish due to the fragrances-but I am pretty sure the girls all got the point.
There are just a few things up and coming this month and for you readers out there, and  I really hope that you all take advantage-

First of all for the next 4 days everything in the online outlet store is an extra 20% off!! amazing deals-there are even some great reed diffusers, Holiday tealight holders and more!! So check it out before these items go or worse you miss out on the extra savings!!

October is going to be an amazing month for any of our hosts!! For anyone who would like to host a party will be eligible to get our Majestic Hearth Hurricane for 30.00!! (Orig 125!!)
I love this piece!!!

Remember, parties don't always have to be in your home, we can coordinate and make arrangements for a "web-show" where similar to  a web-conference we can arrange a way to set a date and time for viewing and have whatever kind of demo you'd like through many different means!  Also, and I can't wait to do one of these we can always do a mini Starbucks party- everyone can relax, enjoy their lattes and we can just all relax and talk about the amazing things Partylite has to offer! Not to mention all the fun and games/prizes you and your guests can get!!!

Just used up my Stella and Dot credits-I know it's only been about 8months...lol but I got some really cute stuff and I think I waited long enough to get a good deal!! Love this pendant-Secret Garden Charm necklace!!! I also got their Soiree earrings in gold!! Love~!!

Fall trend:Geometric Patterns

Taking the time to spruce up your home with the latest trends doesn't have to be costly. Just a few simple changes-pillows, accent walls, and even tabletop accessories can change the look of a room in an instant!  This year's Fall/Holiday book for PartyLite has those geometric pieces to complete any room and serve as staple pieces to last for seasons to come!
All you need to complete an efficient, inexpensive geometric room are as follows: Accent rug, solid colored (i love dark wood or black) end tables or furniture, an open floor space, and an accent wall with either geometric stenciling (found at most craft stores and hardware stores) or grab some paint and create an accent wall!!

I love how patterns here were used to awaken this vanity piece.  Not to mention that vibrant blue mirror, I just love the crispness of this blue and white scheme.

So we're down to the last two weeks before my party and I have officially cleaned out the sitting room, arranged furniture to be more inviting and open for my demonstration, but the most exciting is arranging everything online and preparing for the arrival of my starter kit.  I'm looking forward to being able to create giveaways, plan for upcoming parties and I hope book something with someone who is at my party or at least make a sale.  But all in all I'm glad I am getting the kit before this way there isnt so much pressure to make the sales to pay for it, I am just going to be going about it on my own.

Website to follow.....

So I gave Clare to go-ahead to set me up online with my partylite website.
Super excited-Stay tuned everyone for your access to partylite products and a chance to sign up for PatyLite Preferred-an amazing rewards program for my clients! :) :)

I figured too this would just be an easier, more relaxed way to get started instead of stressing over sales at my party-I really would like everyone to have a good time and maybe book their own rather than try and and push everything-Also I can get my vistaprint things underway!!!

Stay tuned!!!

My First Glads!!

So I cut the first two stalks of Gladioli that I planted this season-I;m actually really surprised that I got blooms this year at all seeing that I planted the bulbs much later than I had liked.  Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to get these to survive through the frost? I was reading online about digging up the "corns" and storing them to be planted next year-but I'll have to look into that more... but woo hoo!! I'm so excited I can't believe I got something to bloom!!!  If only the reds would come out then I would be all set!

Mani, Pedi and a Little Glow!

I just think its super important to indulge and get those little things done regularly!! I just made my appointment for my mani pedi and wax and I'm so excited-not like I am having anything amazing done but I love that little hour of pampering every couple of weeks!!!

Just like humans...

Oscar!!!

They lose their baby teeth too!!!!

I know I kept them in a tooth box and all-

Just like everyone else I know that has a dog or any animal, we totally treat them like human children!  Our puppy Oscar(7months now) has definitely been growing and surprising us everyday!! I have never had a dog under 20lbs-and with the added funny breathing spouts he has, I have definitely been learning some new things about dog-ownership!

For example, this dog NEEDS a walk every morning and he's still not exercised enough! It feels like he is up every morning at 5:30 too!! I don't think I have slept in since we've had him!!

It's not all bad though- I've been getting more exercise, for one and not to mention his personality makes it all worth it in the end-I mean really, look at that face!!!

Getting all the party ideas together-I talked with Jen the other day briefly about hopefully getting a"cake" made for one of the gift baskets-I still havent decided though what else I could make or whatever "theme" I wanna make each one.  I am sure I'll get more ideas on August 1st at the party with Clare-Speaking of which she was at the convention this past Wed-the weekend I am assuming so I'll be excited to hear about any of the new products she has.....I checked out the website last night to see if any of the new items from my book went up and they did so Click here to get shopping or at least make your wish list for the Holiday season!!!

It's official(again..lol)!! I'm taking outside orders for my PartyLite party on September 14th-I received my packets of info today filled with order forms, a couple catalogs (all of which can be viewed online here) and tons of postcards that i can distribute to invite people to it.  There was also a sheet in there for Clare's August 1st party at the Glenside Knights of Coloumbus-She mentioned me taking orders from that party too for mine, but I'm not sure  about that-would it take away from the people who would attend mine? Or could this just be another perk of gathering orders at a different venue.  I can't wait to go get my eyebrows done-or my hair trimmed! LoL I'm so talky that I could just talk myself right into a booking I'm sure- there have been plenty of times I feel like I could have warmed right into a conversation about candles or home decor...lol-Lame!!!! But all it takes is one booking-then another and another and another-
I need to work on another outlet not for marketing but for a "live" kind of scenario where I could like login-work a bit from my computer with some orders at my discretion and also go from there-Another way to maximize my business-but how? where? I always find that I have some downtime in between either surfing around or checking e-mail where I could actually be productive-Just more things to ponder as I start to get this off the ground.
All in all feeling optimistic-and of course secure being that this is all going to be on my terms and I am not looking to leave where I am at all-just looking to maybe be a little more productive, make a little extra-not even extra just some comfort money..lol-and of course have some fun-2013 is gonna end better than it started and 2014 is going to  keep going up!!!

Order your candles now if you're unable to attend in person on the 14th!! Make sure you enter Jeana D for the hostess name!!

Grand Opening Party Planning

So now that the vacation is behind me I can start to plan my September Grand Opening party to start my PartyLite business (I hope you all can help support me!!) I did have a jewelry party that I hosted in April, so whenever I know I am having an event I go into complete hostess mode!!! So excited!  This one definitely has a little more meaning of course because it is the kickoff to what I hope to be a new venture thats going to pay off and help me achieve the goals I'm looking to reach.

In thinking of different ideas and incentives I always try and steer clear of the wierd party games or ice breakers, but I did want to make this as welcoming and as fun as possible!! I started looking on sites to create some "door prizes" that hopefully will make for good incentives for my guests to participate!

I even saw on some websites that people make up gift baskets-any suggestions? ideas? I would love to collect some ideas about games prizes/ party themes to make this event memorable!!!

Party: Saturday September 14, 2013
Grand Openeing for my PartyLite online store too!!!

That's Why I Love PartyLite!

Here it is!!! Fall/Holiday 2013!

So here it is the cover to the Fall/Holiday 2013 PartyLite book

I'm sooo excited!!! I'm starting to get together with some of my other friends who have chic, homemade items or home items they make from home to include in my "raffle" gift baskets!

A few ideas for the party so far are: (and these are totally dependent on the number of guests I can expect so.. the more the merrier!

  • raffle baskets for guests to win one with home spa and pampering items-the other with home kitchen/chic gadgets partylite candles etc
  • depending on the number of guests I would love to send everyone home with some partylite items as favors

This book is full of awesome stuff for home! Great votive holders, scents and reed diffusers! I hope everyone can make it but if not, experience my online shop for the deals and great items!!

Adding a Little Vintage...

without going overboard...

Sometimes we all want that vintage "chic" look but then one too many wall ornaments later and we're regretting it.  Every Monday Fab.com does Vintage Mondays where much like all the other boutique websites they have some pretty awesome "vintage" items (either truly vintage or vintage inspired)  for a short amount of time. Below are some of the things I found tonight that I thought would give you a touch of vintage without going too "theme" crazy.....
Love this for my wardrobe/dressing room-I don't even wear many Eau de Toillete but these are just beautiful vanity table items!
Awesome fireplace screen-this would look awesome in my sitting room-but can also be used as a smaller room divider to keep pet beds/unsightly items stored without being an eyesore.
Another great mud-room item! I love this crate for keeping shoes or dog toys by the back door!!

Back from vacation...and getting back into the groove..ugh!

So how do you get back from vacation and start into the whole work week again?! Take a whole day to be off and just do laundry for starters!! Below you'll find some of the ways we found to make our transition home from vacation that much easier!
  • Clean before you leave-it seems like another thing on the list of to-dos before you go, but by doing a little at a time over the week before you leave, you only have to straighten up lightly if at all when you get in the door with all those bags!

  • Put all your dirty clothes in plastic bags that you can just toss down the basement steps or wherever your washer area is and get to those dirties soon!
  • Using a cooler like the one above was not only inexpensive but a great way to bring home and keep all those mini-fridge items from the hotel chilled-We also found keeping it in the trunk with a bag of ice per day kept everything super-cold even on 90 degree days!!
  • Have a set of clean sheets/pillowcases at the end of the bed or freshly made right before you leave.  That first night home in your own bed will never have felt so luxurious! (We had someone stay at our house when we were gone, so it was extra-nice even for them as a guest to come and stay :))
Kick your feet up and relax!! If you can't have the entire day off to do nothing and recover from your long trip home, then make sure you have more things prepared and ready for your return home.  A nice setup with candles, (check out these from patylite) a fresh bottle of white wine, and chocolates are a simple way to get relaxed and enjoy the few hours home before getting back into the rush of things again!-I'm sure you can tell I'm not looking forward to it!!

Add a Little Glow...

The following items are on fab.com tonight for a good price, but these glittery polishes definitely have some awesome look-alikes!

To your nails!

These awesome polishes I saw on Fab.com today You still have a couple hours to get thse particular sets, but I love the new polishes with chunky glitter.  I have a few from Essie this year that really play up the whole "accent" nail-look.

Love these-from fab.com-shooting star set!I Love the middle polish on this one-the stars look awesome!!
Fab.comThe multi-colored confetti really looks like cake-toppings!!

Forget the way your nails look when you go away on vacation think about the way you feel!! Sometimes the simplest things in life are the most enjoyable-it's known that the people who have time devoted to the simplest, tiniest little luxuries in their lives, are the happiest! So... Glow away!!!

Still in that vacation mode..... Suffered a pretty bad stomach virus the past couple of days-unlike anything I have ever experienced-and I am still not feeling 100%.  Anyway I thought I would at least get something posted while I was feeling up to it :) :)

Vacation Tips, and Tricks as Seen in Cosmo:
I just thought some of these were cool: For Packing an Awesome Efficient suitcase...
  1. Pack your sandals or shoes in a shower cap so the soles don't ditry your clothes.
  2. When packing sandals keep it to some transitional ones so you don't have to pack too many (ex-gladiators can function both day and night)
  3. Rolling your clothes keep them from wrinkling and save space!!
Always have an emergency kit with these items!!
(I was happy to say that I already pack most of these on our trips! )
  1. Space contacts
  2. Tampons
  3. Bandaids
  4. zantac/Tums/Prevaci(whatever ant-acid you use)
  5. Neosporin/Aquaphor cream
  6. And for overseas trip see your doc about maybe getting an antibiotic to take with-some may do this if you are going overseas-in case you become ill it would be a hell of a time trying to get an amoxicillin/penicillin with cost/access issues -Look into this one!!
  7. Advil/Tylenol

Just some things I'll be doing when I pack this time,,,,,

The Countdown begins!

So it's official I've started the "this time next week I'll be...." talk.   Has anyone ever felt that the week before a vacation-and does that only happen when you have somewhere to go, or just to be off?

I'd love to hear your thoughts :) (and it'd be nice to know if anyone is listening out there :))

Fitting in the Luxuries-On Vacation!! (and on a budget!)

Stretching yourself too thin both emotionally and financially is never intended when vacation time rolls around-in fact, sometimes I even feel guilty for taking the time off and being away from the office-call me crazy. But before you know it here we are-completely ready to walk out at the next "snip" from a co-worker, and having that "Oh my god, I NEED A VACATION!!"  feeling.  Along with that comes the other reality of today-how am I going to be able to afford it? You would think with all that working the money would just be piling up-Not so! And I know me, when I go on vacation I am going to want to enjoy those "little luxuries"-spa treatments, more room, ammenities-you know practical things :) (lol)-but not for too much of a price.
I'm not the thriftiest person by any means, but I like to think I got a pretty good deal for the "short, last-minute" road trip type vacation for our buck.  My fiance and I chose to Do Busch gardens, Williamsburg-So read below for our itinerary, and feel free to Include yours if you have ever been there!  Also, anyone have any suggestions for food/entertainment within Williamsburg/Surrounding areas?  We are going to have some free time probably on Friday night and Saturday.

Our Trip: The Much needed Vacation!
Dates: Wednesday July 3-Sunday July 7
We should be getting done work around dinner time when we'll make our mass exodus! Woo Hoo vacation here we come-Leaving from Philly, we're going to be statying at the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites in Williamsburg, VA-Tripadvisor placed it pretty high on the ratings and for the type of trip we're taking, I wasn't really going to expect to stay anywhere more than  "Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn Express"type place. The price ended up being so nice that I booked the biggest "suite" they had-which in this case presented us with a King Size bed, Sofa Bed (sometimes our Zzzz keep each other up :)) in a living room area, microwave, fridge and large bathroom-a steal at 105 a night-I only hope it's as "good" as I am expecting. Also with this in mind, I'm hoping to being some snacks that will keep a little longer, if not lunch items for the park and water park.
With being in the park primarily all day on Thursday and probably Friday, we really only need a place to shower, eat and of course hang out and sleep ;) ;)    Booking through Ebates got us 10.00 back on the whole thing because Cheap tickets, is a participating website :) Another plus!!  I'm anticipating Wed night to be mostly travel with the arrival at the hotel and settling in and then Thursday (4th of July) morning being the official start to our trip!
Continental breakfast is included with our stay so hopefully that can save us on a meal or two- but early to rise early to eat and then early to the rides!  I only hope my hunnie will be able to hang-this will be the biggest thing since Hershey for our travels, but-we'll see. The Flex passes with the parking for two days we purchased (190.00 total) will really let us make the most of our days in Williamsburg If I need to add more parking for Busch gardens we will on the spot :)-I added a day's worth of a meal plan option as well, but I was planning on taking one day to do an entire park's main attractions and then kind of go back and do whatever we want to "go back and see" in our travels.  This is where I am kind of stuck too one day we'll do Busch Gardens the next Water Country USA-

Any Suggestions for either one of these Parks' itinerary?

Fourth of July will have a "magical, romantic" feel I think for 25.00 a ticket-The park is offering a ride down there "Rhine" River and a Fireworks Spectacular-I opted for this instead of the picnic I hope I'm not missing out there-The meal plan "should" be our option here but we'll see.
So pooped after that and we're home?  Oh I hope- Remember Early to bed-ealry to rise-ealry to eat!!

Contintental breakfast should meet us again Friday morning-and my next "Little luxury" I have planned  will be a French Wine Tasting at 1:30p.m. (theres the luxury part ;) ;) ) followed by a day at Water Country USA-I'm thinking we'll have to play it smarter and pack lunch-I would rather spend my money elsewhere and indulge in maybe a local Italian eatery, or finer dining in Williamsburg-Holding back from the "snacks" and drinks at the water park should free up some money for a $$ or even $$$ night out for dinner-I'll be sure to pack my cocktail dress- we may even have room for more Vino!- both in our bellies and our wallets!

Friday Night is going to be our "out" night-but I don't really think theres much in Williamsburg-Anyone vacation or do anything in Newport or VA beach and know any places to hangout or get a drink-suggestions are welcomed!!  But if all else fails maybe we can make it back to the pool...

Saturday and Sunday still up in the air-Ideally I would like to get something on the itinerary-we have the Flex passes so obviously the park is going to be another option each day-Saturday we'll be able to go back and get the things done that we didnt see or get to the first few days, and I know once I get there it's going to be bigger than I am expecting-i Just hope not too overwhelming-

We check out Sunday-Leaving Monday (which we're both off) for us to relax and recover form what seems like a lot packed into just a few days-I personally always enjoy having that whoel day off after travel to just rest, sleep and get ready for the work week ahead ugh!

All in all I am pretty optimistic-I have followed fellow tripadvisor  travelers' advice before and haven't been disappointed, and the reviews were mostly from frequent travelers of both the park and hotel-I only hope I read back on this when I follow up and are satisfied.

 :)

Hello and Welcome!

Hello out there! Welcome to my Blog! I wanted to avoid having a big long "About Me" Section because I wanted to use this space to archive, collect and share my latest home improving endeavors. I'm also getting involved with PartyLite at the end of the summer-PartyLite is an in-home self made business venture I am embarking on starting in September, which I am also going to be using this blog as an outlet to announce events, be in contact with my clients, and answer any questions relating to PartyLite (once I am fully equipped with all of the fun samples we'll get to sample!) Make no mistake this blog is also going to serve as a collection of all things "home"- the place we should spend our time in splendor and appreciation of the "little touches"-little touches we ourselves have created :) I only hope my collection of what inspires me will help to inspire you, or at the very least, spark an emotion in you to get moving, create and personalize your own little piece of luxury in your home :) :) Use the Link to the right to subscribe to receive these posts as they are available, and please don't be shy, I'm open to comments, feedback and any questions you may have regarding the posts here!
