Still in that vacation mode..... Suffered a pretty bad stomach virus the past couple of days-unlike anything I have ever experienced-and I am still not feeling 100%.  Anyway I thought I would at least get something posted while I was feeling up to it :) :)

Vacation Tips, and Tricks as Seen in Cosmo:
I just thought some of these were cool: For Packing an Awesome Efficient suitcase...
  1. Pack your sandals or shoes in a shower cap so the soles don't ditry your clothes.
  2. When packing sandals keep it to some transitional ones so you don't have to pack too many (ex-gladiators can function both day and night)
  3. Rolling your clothes keep them from wrinkling and save space!!
Always have an emergency kit with these items!!
(I was happy to say that I already pack most of these on our trips! )
  1. Space contacts
  2. Tampons
  3. Bandaids
  4. zantac/Tums/Prevaci(whatever ant-acid you use)
  5. Neosporin/Aquaphor cream
  6. And for overseas trip see your doc about maybe getting an antibiotic to take with-some may do this if you are going overseas-in case you become ill it would be a hell of a time trying to get an amoxicillin/penicillin with cost/access issues -Look into this one!!
  7. Advil/Tylenol

Just some things I'll be doing when I pack this time,,,,,

The Countdown begins!

So it's official I've started the "this time next week I'll be...." talk.   Has anyone ever felt that the week before a vacation-and does that only happen when you have somewhere to go, or just to be off?

I'd love to hear your thoughts :) (and it'd be nice to know if anyone is listening out there :))

Fitting in the Luxuries-On Vacation!! (and on a budget!)

Stretching yourself too thin both emotionally and financially is never intended when vacation time rolls around-in fact, sometimes I even feel guilty for taking the time off and being away from the office-call me crazy. But before you know it here we are-completely ready to walk out at the next "snip" from a co-worker, and having that "Oh my god, I NEED A VACATION!!"  feeling.  Along with that comes the other reality of today-how am I going to be able to afford it? You would think with all that working the money would just be piling up-Not so! And I know me, when I go on vacation I am going to want to enjoy those "little luxuries"-spa treatments, more room, ammenities-you know practical things :) (lol)-but not for too much of a price.
I'm not the thriftiest person by any means, but I like to think I got a pretty good deal for the "short, last-minute" road trip type vacation for our buck.  My fiance and I chose to Do Busch gardens, Williamsburg-So read below for our itinerary, and feel free to Include yours if you have ever been there!  Also, anyone have any suggestions for food/entertainment within Williamsburg/Surrounding areas?  We are going to have some free time probably on Friday night and Saturday.

Our Trip: The Much needed Vacation!
Dates: Wednesday July 3-Sunday July 7
We should be getting done work around dinner time when we'll make our mass exodus! Woo Hoo vacation here we come-Leaving from Philly, we're going to be statying at the Econo Lodge Inn and Suites in Williamsburg, VA-Tripadvisor placed it pretty high on the ratings and for the type of trip we're taking, I wasn't really going to expect to stay anywhere more than  "Hilton Garden Inn or Holiday Inn Express"type place. The price ended up being so nice that I booked the biggest "suite" they had-which in this case presented us with a King Size bed, Sofa Bed (sometimes our Zzzz keep each other up :)) in a living room area, microwave, fridge and large bathroom-a steal at 105 a night-I only hope it's as "good" as I am expecting. Also with this in mind, I'm hoping to being some snacks that will keep a little longer, if not lunch items for the park and water park.
With being in the park primarily all day on Thursday and probably Friday, we really only need a place to shower, eat and of course hang out and sleep ;) ;)    Booking through Ebates got us 10.00 back on the whole thing because Cheap tickets, is a participating website :) Another plus!!  I'm anticipating Wed night to be mostly travel with the arrival at the hotel and settling in and then Thursday (4th of July) morning being the official start to our trip!
Continental breakfast is included with our stay so hopefully that can save us on a meal or two- but early to rise early to eat and then early to the rides!  I only hope my hunnie will be able to hang-this will be the biggest thing since Hershey for our travels, but-we'll see. The Flex passes with the parking for two days we purchased (190.00 total) will really let us make the most of our days in Williamsburg If I need to add more parking for Busch gardens we will on the spot :)-I added a day's worth of a meal plan option as well, but I was planning on taking one day to do an entire park's main attractions and then kind of go back and do whatever we want to "go back and see" in our travels.  This is where I am kind of stuck too one day we'll do Busch Gardens the next Water Country USA-

Any Suggestions for either one of these Parks' itinerary?

Fourth of July will have a "magical, romantic" feel I think for 25.00 a ticket-The park is offering a ride down there "Rhine" River and a Fireworks Spectacular-I opted for this instead of the picnic I hope I'm not missing out there-The meal plan "should" be our option here but we'll see.
So pooped after that and we're home?  Oh I hope- Remember Early to bed-ealry to rise-ealry to eat!!

Contintental breakfast should meet us again Friday morning-and my next "Little luxury" I have planned  will be a French Wine Tasting at 1:30p.m. (theres the luxury part ;) ;) ) followed by a day at Water Country USA-I'm thinking we'll have to play it smarter and pack lunch-I would rather spend my money elsewhere and indulge in maybe a local Italian eatery, or finer dining in Williamsburg-Holding back from the "snacks" and drinks at the water park should free up some money for a $$ or even $$$ night out for dinner-I'll be sure to pack my cocktail dress- we may even have room for more Vino!- both in our bellies and our wallets!

Friday Night is going to be our "out" night-but I don't really think theres much in Williamsburg-Anyone vacation or do anything in Newport or VA beach and know any places to hangout or get a drink-suggestions are welcomed!!  But if all else fails maybe we can make it back to the pool...

Saturday and Sunday still up in the air-Ideally I would like to get something on the itinerary-we have the Flex passes so obviously the park is going to be another option each day-Saturday we'll be able to go back and get the things done that we didnt see or get to the first few days, and I know once I get there it's going to be bigger than I am expecting-i Just hope not too overwhelming-

We check out Sunday-Leaving Monday (which we're both off) for us to relax and recover form what seems like a lot packed into just a few days-I personally always enjoy having that whoel day off after travel to just rest, sleep and get ready for the work week ahead ugh!

All in all I am pretty optimistic-I have followed fellow tripadvisor  travelers' advice before and haven't been disappointed, and the reviews were mostly from frequent travelers of both the park and hotel-I only hope I read back on this when I follow up and are satisfied.

 :)

Hello and Welcome!

Hello out there! Welcome to my Blog! I wanted to avoid having a big long "About Me" Section because I wanted to use this space to archive, collect and share my latest home improving endeavors. I'm also getting involved with PartyLite at the end of the summer-PartyLite is an in-home self made business venture I am embarking on starting in September, which I am also going to be using this blog as an outlet to announce events, be in contact with my clients, and answer any questions relating to PartyLite (once I am fully equipped with all of the fun samples we'll get to sample!) Make no mistake this blog is also going to serve as a collection of all things "home"- the place we should spend our time in splendor and appreciation of the "little touches"-little touches we ourselves have created :) I only hope my collection of what inspires me will help to inspire you, or at the very least, spark an emotion in you to get moving, create and personalize your own little piece of luxury in your home :) :) Use the Link to the right to subscribe to receive these posts as they are available, and please don't be shy, I'm open to comments, feedback and any questions you may have regarding the posts here!
